Methods

I provide trauma-informed, holistic mental health treatment methods.

I create an environment of unconditional positive regard while incorporating evidence based practices, irreverent communication, and a sense of humor.

12 Step Models

Utilize the 12 step methods of traditional 12 step recovery groups such as AA, ACOA, Al-Anon, etc, to build insight into behaviors through inventory and action, and build a solid foundation for recovery.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

Explore core beliefs and how they impact your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. Identify thinking errors/cognitive distortions and how these can cause misperception and emotional reactivity.

Neurodivergence (ADD/ADHD & Highly Sensitive People)

Learn self care and self- advocacy for managing sensory needs in an overstimulating world.

Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT)

DBT is CBT plus skills and mindfulness. Learn skills for distress tolerance, emotional regulation, interpersonal effectiveness, and mindfulness. Improve your ability to pay attention to your inner states of mind.

Stress

Learn stress management techniques including somatic approaches.

Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART)

ART is based on voluntary eye movements while focusing on traumatic memories or distressing sensations to aid with emotional processing and letting go. ART aids with symptom reduction including reducing PTSD scores.

Self Esteem

Begin to explore and honor your authentic needs and wants in this world, & how to practice self acceptance, self respect, and self love.

Dysfunctional Family Backgrounds

Explore family roles and dynamics, communication styles and patterns, and how to improve authentic relating based on being present instead of out of habit. Bowenian and Gestalt techniques are employed to reduce "waiting to speak" and to build awareness of reactions in the moment.

Healthy Relationships

Explore your attachment style, love languages, personality style, and how these impact those around you. Learn healthy, nonviolent, assertive communication and appropriate boundary setting with others.
